Sand Run Lake Resort vacation rentals are situated on seven beautiful acres adjacent to thousands of acres of Wayne National Forest and Sand Run Lake. The property has 2 large Cabins and 1 Lodge and includes two stocked ponds and a horse stable. We found this paradise in 2013 and we new this would be the perfect setting for a secluded cabin retreat nestled in Ohio's Hocking Hills and Wayne National Forest. You are invited! Upon entering the cabin we found a bunch, and I mean dozens, of lady bugs at the entry way to the cabin. They seemed to get worse as our stay progressed, including being above us on the ceiling in our room, on our laptops, on our bed, in the bathroom upstairs, and everywhere downstairs. We saw a gap in the entry door where they appeared to be entering. Also, this was mainly a fishing trip for us, and the 2 stocked ponds were the main drawl to the property. The one was so full of weeds that you couldn't reel your line in without getting stuck. The other was in front of a small cabin and had people around it. We opted to visit Lake Logan and Lake Hope, both within 15 minutes, with beautiful scenery. We caught some bass, crappies, and bluegills. The cabin was decorated nice. There was a tv in living room upstairs, and both bedrooms, although the one with the bunk beds would not turn on. The wifi did work the entire time we were there. The hot tub is sunk in, and a little hard to get in/out of. The deck around the cabin, chairs to sit in, and grill were probably the nicest features of the cabin. It is on the main road, so it's not secluded back in the woods if you are looking for privacy. There's a neighbor directly across from the hot tub. Because it's sunken into the floor, they can't see you when you step in. I wouldn't recommend this for a romantic getaway, more for a family. I also wouldn't recommend this for people w/mobility disabilities because you enter at the bottom, but the restroom, dining room, living room, and outside deck are all upstairs. The people renting it were nice. You have to pick up/drop off the key at the office which is a little inconvenient. For the price, if you can get past the lady bugs, it's an okay place to stay. There are other nicer cabins in the area in my humble opinion.
