Yes, it's a great property. We decamped from East Coat Urban Life and stayed here for two weeks. We wanted to be close to Helena but have a beautiful surrounding, so this was perfect. My most important criteria when I rent a house is to have the owners nearby. Nancy and Carroll live next door, so I was in seventh heaven. They were so helpful, always around, and always willing to give advice or help out. We did not have the hot water problem that others mentioned. We had a few minor issues, but the hosts fixed them and even took our suggestions for better stocking the house. They answered all of our questions, let us borrow tools for a project and even took our mail and mailed it for us. The loft bedroom does NOT have a door on it, so it is great for teens or quiet kids, but maybe not for adults. The only unresolved issue with the house is that there is not a good music system. We knew this going in and we brought our own Bose Bluetooth player, which is small and easy to pack. The wifi is strong so we may even bring "Alexa" next time. For those who may be interested, we worked from this house for two weeks. We shipped out monitors, which the hosts gladly accepted and put in to the house for us. We set up our computers on two different tables and ran our offices from Montana - and no one was the wiser. :) This house and the hosts are perfectly suited for your mobile office. Also, our teens and young adults loved the place. The big kitchen made for wonderful huge breakfast-making and fantastic dinners for entertaining. (We invited guests to join us and the hosts were amenable to that, as long as we did not exceed the maximum capacity of the house.) We intend to return next summer and we think we have found our home away from home.
My husband and I took our family of four adults and four grandchildren under five with us for an "end of summer" celebration. Fortunately, we were able to rent this wonderful 'home away from home" for four days over the Labor Day weekend. Amazingly, the house provided us with more than enough space to sleep soundly, feed all 10 of us three meals a day plus snacks, shower, and relax. The house was spotlessly clean and the yard well maintained. The kitchen was well equipped with a gas range, quiet dish washer, large refrigerator, and plenty of cupboard space. There was plenty of cooking and eating equipment. We fed the kids first and then sat down to dinner around the lovely dining table. The furniture was comfortable in all of the sitting rooms including the main floor living room, the downstairs den, and the screened-in downstairs patio. The deck was plenty large and furnished so that we could barbecue, lounge, and eat on it. Because it was closed off, the children could run around it while we watched from inside without worrying about their getting lost or hurt. The upstairs and downstairs rooms - plus the loft bedroom - had beautiful, large windows which allowed us to view the beauty of Canyon Ferry Lake. The views were a real treat! We thoroughly enjoyed the Canyon Ferry beach just a five minute walk away. We were able to bring our beach "stuff" in one car that we could park above the beach and then carry that stuff down to the sand. The lake was shallow enough to allow our 2, 3, 4, and 5 year olds to play to their hearts content as well as allowing us to pull our rented pontoon boat right up to shore to load and unload. Nancy and Carroll, the owners, were right next door although they did not intrude in our family time in any way. They responded quickly by phone, text, and email to all our questions and requests for help. We will definitely return to this special vacation place next year. Thanks to Nancy and Carroll for their warm hospitality!
This property will not disappoint! Comfortable, clean, homey and had everything it promised. View is beautiful from the deck!
It truly is a beautiful log home on Canyon Ferry Lake. It is everything and more than described in VRBO. We have stayed in a number of VRBO homes over the years, but this was by far the best one of all. From the first time we contacted the owners to the time we were guests in their home, we have never been treated better. A bonus is that they live next door and were always happy to help in any way.
A beautiful log home with gorgeous views! The Moen''s are gracious hosts! We would definitely stay there again.
