Creekside Cabin is a small secluded guest house 100 ft above a rocky cove on 2.5 acres of magnificent south Mendocino ocean front. It is in the "Banana Belt" with the sunniest weather on the coast. It was built as a guest house for the larger family retreat next door. NOTE 1: We will respect your privacy and stay out of sight if we happen to be there when you are. NOTE 2: We sometimes rent the big house (Clifftop House) for larger parties or for two people who want a larger rental. See VRBO...

We, fortunately, arrived on a sunny day, in the midst of this winter rain storm. The place is cozy and comfortable - and the view from the window incredible! Step out the back door - and sit on the deck -- the sounds of the waves and the sights of the ocean - overwhelmingly breathtaking. A few steps off the deck and you are standing at the edge of a cliff experiencing the wildness and wonder of the Pacific Ocean.
I stayed at Creekside Cabin for a couple of nights after Thanksgiving, and it was a perfect escape from the holiday insanity. The cabin itself is thoughtfully appointed (including a very functional kitchen and a nice assortment of cooking equipment and pantry essentials). And the location and view can't be beat. If you're looking for a low-key, comfortable rental for one or two in a quieter part of the Mendocino coast, I highly recommend this property.
My wife and I spent a long weekend at this charming cabin, and loved every minute of it. The deck is 30 yards from the cliffs on the ocean, with amazing views during the day. The highlight was sitting on the deck for dinner, watching the sun go down, the moon rise, and then thousands of stars fill up the night sky. The amenities are not fancy, but more than adequate, and the bed is very comfortable. It was a tough place to leave.
Our weekend stay was enjoyable and all too brief. My wife and I found the cottage very comfortable and cozy, providing everything needed for a relaxing visit. After stopping in Gualala to stock up on food and drink at our favorite north coast grocery store, the Surf Market, we arrived in time to sit on the deck and watch the sunset. Although the owners were at the house on the same property, we never saw them or felt a lack of privacy. It was quiet enough to hear the surf all night long and dark enough to see the stars. All and all a great getaway destination for a foray to the beautiful Northern California coast.
If you're the kind of person who wants a respite from the world complete with total peace and quiet and stunningly beautiful ocean views from every room, this is the place for you. The house is warm and hospitable with huge windows to capture miles of coastline. The super-comfortable king-size bed in the master bedroom faces the ocean so you can lie in bed and watch the sunset. There is even a fireplace to keep you warm and cozy. You can't see another home from anywhere on the property which makes you feel very secluded. The house is filled with all the amenities you could possibly need and while it isn't fancy, it's certainly full of charm. The owner's have provided a binder with complete instructions and very helpful hints on places to eat and visit. However, if you're like me, you won't want to leave once you arrive. I have stayed on the coast with my husband since the 1970's and this, by far, is one of my very favorite places. Book your getaway soon because I think once people discover this magical place, it will be hard to reserve.
